CPU Replacement / upgrade
To add / replace the Intel CPU please remove the lid and HDD/ODD tray. You can see the two gold heat pipes connecting the CPU to the chassis.
Locate and remove the 4x pozi-drive screws holding down the upper CPU block – see below:
Then remove the block, and carefully lift the up the two pipes to expose the lower CPU block. Then remove the 3x pozi-drive screws, that hold down the lower CPU block, see below:
You can now add / replace the CPU. Take care when fitting a CPU. If the main board CPU socket pins are bent / damaged, your warranty will be affected.
Before fully using your newly fitted CPU fully, we do recommend that you boot the system into BIOS and monitor the CPU temperature for 5 minutes to ensure the temperature rises slowly (approx 1’C per minute) If it rises very quickly—then please check the CPU cooling block positioning - thermal paste etc. |
